Many business owners invest time, money, and energy into developing a website and then ask themselves how come it doesn‘t show up on Google. The reality is that rankings are not only based on how your site appears. They are based more on how Googlesond ect ans, so it ranks those sites by separating his content to their request Here are ten issues that are pulling you down and are causing you issues related to SEO, whether or not you realize they are hurting you:
Many of the biggest problems, and one of the biggest SEO nightmares I see, is before they even publish their content, they have put together a piece of content with no idea as to if that is what people are searching for in Google to actually see it. Google cannot understand what you are trying to target if the content doesn‘t line up or match with what people are searching for in terminology and/or conceptual thinking
A lot of times I want to slap business owners for not understanding how important loading speed is. People will leave a slow–engaging page within seconds, and Google knows people leave these pages many times as well. When your sites load quickly, Google wants to keep you in the fold and later through prompting a visitor to inquire about what they could have seen in your content.
Websites that do not receive updates become stale and will slowly fade from visibility. Google, especially, would prefer to present new and fresh sources of information. By consistently updating your site with – new posts, updated pages, or new case studies – that shows Google your site is alive and reputable.
Links from trusted sources act as votes of confidence. If Google doesn‘t see links from trusted websites, it has no reason to consider you an authority on a topic. Even a few quality backlinks from local businesses, partners, or category blogs can give you authority, trust and credibility.
If users (and Google) can‘t navigate your website your rankings will fall. Websites that have clarity in menus, categories, and links are easier to navigate to and from.
For local businesses, inconsistent data like name, address, phone number and map listing creates major inconsistencies in trust. Your citations across your website and local listings (yelp, google my business, yellowpages, etc.) need to be consistent to make a positive impact to your online presence.
Even if all of the above conditions are remedied and you are actively generating new content, refreshing old content, etc. give it time. SEO can take a while, and newer websites will take longer for Google to fully index a website, having complete trust in it. When it comes to SEO, consistency will trump speed every time.
When your website is not ranking within the google search results, it doesn‘t always mean there is something wrong with your business! It simply means Google is looking for clearer and stronger signals. Addressing these issues can substantially help with both online visibility and help your website stand out from the competition.
